Most politicians must be pressured to stand up for freedom by informed and involved pro-liberty citizens. That is why those of us who understand the benefits of liberty must remain vigilant against any attempt to erode respect for our rights, especially the right to defend ourselves against private crime and public tyranny.

Whether you like them or not, background checks are here to stay for gun owners and gun purchasers – but they are not the saving grace that some make them out to be. Background checks for gun purchases can only do so much and are not the permanent solution to keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and keeping Americans safe from gun violence. More concerning is that they give the state an ever-growing list of private citizens who own guns, and such a list has historically been used for subsequent gun confiscation attempts.

If we drive on with this idea then we will be setting a precedent that will leave us with no freedom at all and a society diagnosed as crazy.

Trump has pushed for Red Flag gun confiscation laws following the Parkland shooting last February, which not only infringes on the rights protected under the Second Amendment, but also the rights protected under the Fourth And Fifth Amendments, and multiple Second Amendment advocate groups are calling him out on it.

The point of the movie seems clear:  It is to promote a biblical wordview, and in this world view is the doctrine of preserving life and the just use of weapons.

“Red flag” laws are on the wrong side of history, the wrong side of our Constitution, the wrong side of liberty and on the wrong side of the laws of God.
