Colorado: House Committee Passes Legislation Victimizing Gun Owners
The House Judiciary Committee has passed Senate Bill 78, on a party-line vote. The measure now heads to the House Floor for Second Reading on Monday, March 29. It is extremely important that you contact your State Representative and ask them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 78.
Senate Bill 78 victimizes gun owners who suffer loss or theft of their property with a fine if they don’t report a lost or stolen firearm within five days of discovering them missing. A firearm owner should not be held liable for the crimes committed by a person who has illegally obtained their firearm. Individuals should not be further victimized after experiencing a burglary or other crime.
