Riton Optics out of Tucson, Arizona is unveiling a new 5 Tactix 1-6×24 LPVO (low powered variable optic) that is part of the Tactix LPVO scope line, designed in collaboration with renonwned firearms training Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch.

The 5 Tactix 1-6×24 Thunder Ranch is a second-focal-plane (SFP), variable-zoom scope that is built for use with a 5.56 NATO carbine with a 16-inch barrel and projectiles that reach a muzzle velocity of at least 3,200 fps. The THR reticle found in the optic also has a “lightweight” bullet drop compensation function. It has precise aiming points for distances of 25, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards in addition to 5 and 10 mph wind-hold points. Riton Optics and Thunder Ranch want shooters to be able to engage out to 500 yards on the fly, without having to dial any turrets or make any extra adjustments.

Furthermore, Clint Smith specifically asked Riton Optics to incorporate daylight-bright green illumination into this riflescope—a feature that he considers a “must-have.” The scope provides six different levels of illumination intensity in an on/off arrangement in between levels. Its turrets are capped, with a click value of 2/10^th MRAD. The one-piece 30mm aluminum main tube is ruggedized and the entire optic was built to be waterproof, shockproof, and fog proof.
