Kel-Tec KS7
Kel-Tec CNC Industries, Inc. of Cocoa, FL, introduced in 2011 a compact shotgun of the bullpup design that fed from twin magazine tubes. The KSG was a success and inspired future variants, a compact model with reduced capacity and weight came to fruition. The Kel-Tec KS7 bullpup shotgun offers a robust design that is easily stowed, carried and counted on.
The bullpup configuration of the KS7 allows for an overall length just larger than 26”. Though capacity is reduced to seven rounds, the overall weight comes in at 5 lbs., 14 oz., which is fair bit lighter than its predecessors.The gun’s single magazine tube features witness slots to easily monitor its status. A crossbolt safety is issued on the KS7 and is effectively positioned for easy operator manipulation. Also the slide release easily accessible and is found forward of the trigger guard.
Kel-Tec supplies a triangular fiber-optic pipe that is fixed to the carry handle. M-Lok accessory slots are molded into the unit. The handle is a removable feature. Disassembly of the bullpup shotgun is simple exercise that requires minimal tools. Our experience on the range with Kel-Tec’s KS7 proved to American Rifleman staff the gun’s potential as a tool for the home defender and professional operator.
