This process is made easier with a simple accessory for dial calipers from Hornady. The 17-22 Rim Thickness Gauge eases sorting of .17 Mach 2, .22 Short, .22 Long and .22 Long Rifle rim thicknesses. With the additional supplied bushing, the unit can be converted to measure .17 HMR and .22 WMR ammo.
