In an attempt to “hold the gun industry accountable” for something they never did, House Democrats have introduced a bill that would allow victims of crime that involve guns to file a lawsuit against gun manufacturers, dealers and trade groups.  That’s right, these anti-Americans want to remove the protections from being sued for something one had nothing to do with from these entities all to advance their unAmerican agenda.

The Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act was introduced on Tuesday, and of course, it seeks to present itself as somehow holding accountable criminals when a crime has been committed, but instead of actually seeing that justice is served upon the one committing the crime, Democrats are seeking to allow for “social justice” by individuals against those who never committed a crime.  Those protections date back to 2005 and frankly, further than that.

NPR reports:

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., one of the bill’s co-sponsors, said since PLCAA became law, state and federal courts have “dismissed numerous cases against the gun industry,” adding that other cases were likely not brought at all.

Schiff, surrounded by members of gun violence prevention groups including Moms Demand Action, Brady and March For Our Lives, said the purpose of the legislation was to “correct the error Congress made” nearly a decade and a half ago.

“Responsible actors in the gun industry don’t need this limitation on liability. And the irresponsible ones don’t deserve it,” Schiff told reporters at the announcement of the bill.

There are none of those Rep. Schiff.

It would be far better to start suing representatives like Schiff and others that openly attack the right to keep and bear arms, seek to put legal loopholes for people to jump through before being able to purchase a firearm, and then skate past any serious accountability when their unconstitutional actions actually were part of the reason someone was shot or lost their life.

Lawrence Keane of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a firearms trade association, gave a great analogy of what Democrats are promoting.

Keane told NPR, “You would no more charge or blame Ford or General Motors for drunk driving accidents.”

He added that current protections were “working exactly how Congress intended it.”

The lawsuits are not necessarily designed to be won, but to bankrupt the gun industry.

“All we’re doing through this proposal is giving victims of gun violence their day in court,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, (D-CT)., a co-sponsor of the Senate version of the bill. “Every other industry has to pay punitive damages if it intentionally and purposefully violates [a] standard of care” toward the community.”

“That will provide a powerful incentive as it has done in tobacco, in automobiles, in pharmaceutical drugs, for safer products,” Blumenthal added.

No, that’s not the issue at all.

While tobacco companies were demonized, and some rightly so by adding things to make cigarettes more addictive, they also posted all the warnings to people and people chose to engage in those products.  The cigarette companies didn’t force one person to take a puff, not one.

Additionally, these same Democrat monkeys support and defend the unconstitutional FDA that has approved far more dangerous drugs than any cigarette, gun, knife or anything else that they admit have killed hundreds of thousands of Americans.  Will these Democrats allow citizens to start suing them?  At least it would be right as they have to approve those drugs, so they would have some accountability.

The only reason to sue a gun manufacturer is if the owner or someone using their product gets injured as a result of a defective product, period.

It’s quite telling actually and reminds me of the film “Runaway Jury” starring John Cusack, Gene Hackman and Rachel Weisz, in which a couple infiltrates a jury to influence it to side against gun manufacturers in a lawsuit that was the result of a mass shooting.  Not once, however, was there any call for justice against the criminal who pulled the trigger nor was there indication that he had received justice for his crime.  Just attack the people that made the gun.

These Democrats are not American, despite where they were born.  They are foreigners and know nothing of American law.
