Alabama: Louisiana Also Beats Alabama in Passing Constitutional Carry

Less than a week after the Texas Legislature passed constitutional/permitless carry, yesterday, the Louisiana Legislature passed its own constitutional carry bill. Louisiana Senate Bill 118 will go to Governor John Bel Edwards for his consideration. Texas and Louisiana may become the 21st and 22nd constitutional carry states, depending on their governors actions.

Though Alabama did not join the constitutional/permitless carry states in 2021, it has a chance to do so next year. Rep. Shane Stringer has prefiled House Bill 6 for 2022, to allow law-abiding adults to carry handguns for self-defense without first having to go through government red tape or pay fees. Please contact your state representative and ask them to support HB 6 in 2022.
