EOTech, the popular electronic holographic sight and optics company, is now making their G43 and G45 optical magnifier units with a flat dark earth (FDE) finish.

EOTech Magnifiers are typically mounted behind an EOTech holographic sight unit on a modern carbine or rifle. When combined, the magnifiers will provide either a 3x (G43) or 5x (G45) zoom on the holographic sight reticle, making it easier to take shots at longer ranges than using just the holographic sight. These magnifiers use a mount that allows the unit to lock in and hinge directly behind the holographic sight, or when not in use, to swing out and stay out of the way.

“The biggest advantage the magnifiers offer with a Holographic Weapon Sight is that the dot size doesn’t change when viewed with magnification,” said Mark Miller, Director of Product Management for EOTech. “The target enlarges, but the dot remains 1 MOA providing greater accuracy. This is different from red dots because their dots will grow in size at the same rate as the target, so no additional precision is gained.”

The primary difference between the EOTech G43 and G45 is that the G43 offers 3x magnification while the G45 offers 5x, otherwise they have very similar specifications and work in the same way. Both have simple, tool-free controls to center the reticle and adjust the diopter to the shooter’s eyes. Both units carry EOTech’s Prestige Warranty, and the company also guarantees each product to be free from any manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal, reasonable use for 10 years from the date of manufacture of a unit or proof of purchase by the end user.
