First Look: Rival Arms X1 Red Dot Sight
Rival Arms makes firearm components that let gun enthusiasts of all stripes upgrade their handguns. From drop-in barrel replacements to extended magazine wells to complete pistol slides, they have something that will help you get the most from your pistol. Now, Rival is making its next move by expanding its offerings to include electronic sights, beginning with the new X1 red-dot sight.
The X1 is a 3-MOA red dot that is ideally suited for use on pistols, target pistols, rifles and defensive shotguns. The sight has an RMR compatible mounting system and also includes a mount for quick installation onto any length of Picatinny rail.
The sight has an IPX7 water and dust resistance rating as well as a 29x17mm multi-coated objective lens. Other features include push-button brightness controls which allow the shooter to quickly select one of 10 brightness settings, as well as windage and elevation adjustments in 1-MOA/click increments that use a flat-blade driver bit, meaning no specialty tools are required to zero your sight. Rather than keep your dot on all the time, there is an automatic, motion-sensing wake feature and a sleep mode to extend battery life in order to ensure the X1 is always ready for action. the battery access is also located at the top of the housing, so there is no need to remove the optic or risk losing zero to change a battery when it’s necessary to replace the battery.
