Hornady Inducted To Nebraska Business Hall Of Fame, Announces Park Management
Industry legend Hornady is already experiencing a big year. On Feb. 1, for example, the Hornady family was inducted into the Nebraska Business Hall of Fame at the annual NE Chamber Hall of Fame Banquet held in Lincoln, Neb.
“Building off of our family legacy, we are a family-owned business now in our second and third generation located in Grand Island, Nebraska and celebrating our 75th anniversary,” said Hornady Manufacturing President Steve Hornady. “We are honored to be recognized by the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry.”

Barely a week later, Hornady announced it had assumed management of the Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, Neb. The site is one of the largest, most complete public shooting facilities in the Midwest, with many recreational and competitive activities taking place there every year.
Amenities of the park include world-class shotgun ranges, Olympic bunker trap, several handgun and rifle ranges out to 600 yards, archery ranges and action shooting bays. Competitive events such as the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championship, Zombies in the Heartland 3-Gun Match, the USPSA Area 3 Championship and numerous charity shoots are hosted annually.
“The Heartland Public Shooting Park is a magnificent facility that offers a multitude of shooting opportunities, making it one of the best public ranges in the entire Midwest,” said Neil Davies, marketing director at Hornady. “We are excited for the opportunity to manage the shooting park and to use the facility to promote the Second Amendment, the city of Grand Island, and shooting sports as a whole.”
Hornady also announced its 2024 Zombies in the Heartland 4-Gun Match will take place May 31 to June 2 at the Heartland site. Registration is already open on Practiscore.
