Lauren Boebert is Headed Back to Congress
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), an outspoken defender of our Second Amendment rights, has won her reelection bid after a weeks-long recount. With more than 300,000 votes cast, the race came down to a difference of just over 500 votes, as Boebert prevailed over a challenge from former Aspen City Councilman Adam Frisch (D).
“Our conservative policies will help all Americans to overcome the challenges we face so each of us has the opportunity to live our very best life. Thank you for entrusting me to help lead the way. I’ll be working every day to prove I can get the job done right,” tweeted Boebert.
The Colorado congresswoman initially rose to viral fame after challenging former Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s (D) gun-confiscation plans at a Colorado event during the latter’s failed presidential run. It was the same month that O’Rourke proclaimed, “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15.”

“We’re not going to let Beto O’Rourke tell us how to defend ourselves. If politicians are so concerned with gun control, they need to start with the criminals,” said Boebert to NRA-ILA at that time. It’s also worth noting that O’Rourke’s political career has since plummeted, with him recently losing the Texas gubernatorial election while Boebert returns to Congress to serve another term.
Following the encounter, Boebert’s political career began, and in 2020, she was elected to represent Colorado’s 3rd congressional district. “I never wavered from my love of country, the fight for freedom, and the strength of my support for the Second Amendment,” Boebert told America’s 1st Freedom at that time.
Since taking office, Boebert has defended the Second Amendment and vowed to “carry her Glock to Congress.”
Predictably, she drew the ire of anti-gun groups and mainstream-media outlets that labeled her a “firebrand,” “extreme,” and much more. None of this has stopped her from fighting for citizens’ right to keep and bear arms.
