New For 2022: Rock Island Armory VR82
Following up on the success of the 12-ga. VRBP-100 and VR80, Rock Island Armory (RIA) has now introduced a 20 gauge to its catalog of box-fed, semi-automatic, tactical shotguns—the VR82.
Designed around the manual of arms of the AR platform, the shotgun can chamber either 2¾” or 3″ shells, and its receivers and handguard are all made from black-anodized 7075 aluminum.
Lightening cuts help bring the VR82’s weight down to only 7 lbs., 8 ozs., and its 18″ barrel is threaded for Beretta/Benelli-style Mobil choke tubes. The barrel’s shroud features spiral fluting to also save weight. A Picatinny rail and M-Lok-compatible slots are present for the easy mounting of an optic and/or other accessories, and a set of flip-up sights come with the shotgun.
RIA includes many patented features with its new VR82, including the BufferTHS thumbhole stock and Battle Arms Development aftermarket components, such as the BAD-MRB Magazine Release Block. Also, RIA’s bufferbolt system comes standard, which is a proven design that is carried over from VR80. An AR-style buffer tube is provided should users opt for aftermarket stocks and grips.
The VR82 ships with a five-round magazine, but 10- and 20-rounders are also available from the manufacturer. Suggested retail is $729. For more information, please visit armscor.com.
