A suspect is in critical condition at an Arizona hospital after trespassing on a homeowner’s property and ignoring commands to leave, according to police.
At 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2024, a Buckeye, Ariz., homeowner heard the doorbell ring. The homeowner grabbed a gun and went to investigate. After looking out the front window and not seeing anyone, the man went to the back door and saw an unknown trespasser. The homeowner told the suspect, described as a man in his early 20s, to leave. The trespassing suspect instead walked toward the homeowner, who fired a single shot at the potential threat, hitting him once in the chest.

Police arrived on scene and detained the homeowner while they searched the property. They discovered the wounded trespasser in the backyard and transported him to the hospital. No charges have been filed in the case. (FOX 10; Buckeye, Ariz.; 1/6/24)

Returning home, George King, Jr., of Macon, Ga., heard noises upstairs. He got his pistol, went upstairs and cornered three intruders. Police charged the three, plus a fourth man, with 46 counts of burglary. After further investigation, they were also charged with the rape of a Macon housewife. (Macon, Ga., Telegraph)
