Editor’s Choice: Fightlite Herring 2024 Advanced Lever Action

FIGHTLITE, known for its conventionally stocked, AR-compatible Sport Configurable Rifle (SCR) and belt-fed MCR, now swings into even more rarified territory with its Herring 2024 Advanced Lever Action. The gun’s attractive lines belie its unconventional combination of characteristics: a lower receiver that accepts standard 5.56 NATO AR magazines and an ovular lever loop tucked between the stock’s pistol grip and trigger guard.

Like a typical AR, the new lever-action is adaptable to different chamberings, barrel lengths, optics and accessories, utilizing off-the-shelf AR-15 bolts and barrel extensions. The mechanism employs a rotating bolt and a bolt carrier that are manually cycled by the lever’s actuation. Cited advantages over tube-fed lever-action designs include zero center-of-gravity shift during loading or firing and spitzer-projectile compatibility.

Initial offerings are 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout, but future versions will be configurable for chamberings as diverse as 6 mm ARC and .450 Bushmaster. Even rimfire and pistol-cartridge models are envisioned, boasting a quicker-cycling, shortened lever stroke. For more information, visit fightlite.com.
