ARMSCOR’s RIA 5.0 ST semi-automatic 9 mm Luger pistol represents the company’s first handgun to be designed and manufactured here in the United States. Marketed under the Rock Island Armory brand, the 5.0 ST blends familiar features and groundbreaking innovations to deliver a reduced-recoil shooting experience. Designed by Fred Craig, the 5.0 ST employs the patented Ram Valve System (RVS) including a unique, square-profile, 5″ barrel. The RVS recoil system maximizes barrel mass and uses linear movement with a low bore axis to successfully tame recoil. Other features include a full-length dustcover, CZ 75-style internalized slide rails, an STI-inspired modular polymer grip assembly and 17-round metallic double-stack magazines. Initial sight system options will include Dawson Precision iron sights or a factory-installed red-dot optic, with suggested retail prices starting at $999.
