Editor’s Choice: Savage Arms Renegauge Security
Savage Arms expands its Renegauge shotgun line with the new Security model. While the company’s reliable and innovative Dual Regulating Inline Valve (D.R.I.V.) gas system made its debut several years ago, only Renegauge hunting models have used the system. Recently, Savage expanded this system to encompass competition and security models, too.
The Renegauge Security pairs the D.R.I.V. system with a host of other design elements to create a reliable, capable home-defense shotgun. An adjustable stock allows users to customize length of pull, comb height, drop and cast for a perfect fit. An extended magazine tube carries six rounds for added confidence, and oversize controls allow users to easily manipulate the gun in high-stress situations.
The 18.5″ barrel is threaded for Beretta/Benelli choke tubes, and three chokes (improved cylinder, modified and full) ship with each gun. Added reliability comes from the gun’s one-piece action bar and chrome-plated reciprocating components, and the gun is topped with a set of easily visible ghost-ring sights.
