Editor’s Choice: Taurus USA Model 327
Taurus Firearms is drawing attention to an often-overlooked revolver cartridge with a new series of double-action/single-action defensive wheelguns simply called the Taurus 327. Launched by Federal Ammunition in 2008, the .327 Fed. Mag. cartridge was designed to provide performance that fits in between .38 Special +P and lightly loaded .357 Mag. ammunition.
The .327’s smaller case diameter allows six rounds to fit in small-frame revolver cylinders that typically hold five rounds of .35-cal. ammunition. Revolvers chambered for .327 Fed. Mag. can also safely fire .32 H&R Mag. and .32 S&W Long cartridges. The Taurus 327 features a strong, all-steel construction in either a matte-black carbon-steel or stainless-steel finishes.
Choose from either 2″ or 3″ barrels topped with a pinned and serrated ramp front sight that’s paired with a fixed, square-notch rear sight. Other features include a checkered hammer spur, a transfer-bar safety system and a compact black rubber grip.
