Desert Tech has made its name by creating original bullpup rifle platforms in popular centerfire chamberings, but the company’s latest product out in 2022 is aimed at converting a classic rimfire rifle into a bullpup system with a simple stock swap. The Desert Tech Trek-22 bullpup stock is designed to shorten and lighten any standard Ruger 10/22 carbine.

Compared to a Ruger 10/22 carbine with a wood stock and an 18″ barrel, a 10/22 action inside of the Desert Tech Trek-22 stock is 10.25″ shorter and 7 percent lighter than the original, coming in at an overall length of only 26.75″. The Trek-22 stock is constructed from impact-resistant, glass-reinforced polymer, and it provides 13 M-Lok attachment points on the fore-end, as well as an integrated Picatinny rail at the top for optics.

At the rear of the Desert Tech Trek-22 stock are two molded-in compartments that allow users to store two 10-round rotary magazines for their firearm. Below this storage compartment is a sling stud that can be used to sling the rifle on either side. One of the other benefits of the Trek-22 package is the addition of an enhanced trigger, featuring a straight blade and a reduced pull weight that averages about 4.5 lbs.

Suggested retail pricing on the Desert Tech Trek-22 bullpup stock kit for the Ruger 10/22 is $299.99. For more information, visit deserttech.com.
