First Look: GiantMouse ACE Corta Knife
GiantMouse announced that the new ACE Corta knife is now available. This high-quality folder incorporates many of the most desired features for a carry knife in a sleek design that looks as good as it performs.
Inspired by the company’s limited edition GM6 knife, the ACE Corta is a flipper-style, folding knife with a 3.1 inch long blade with a flat saber grind. To create the blade, the soul of the knife, GiantMouse Knives selected the Böhler M390 stainless steel to use for the blade, a specialty steel is considered by many to be superior to other steels for its wear resistance. Böhler Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG of Austria makes the steel using a proprietary process that increases its wear and tear resistance down to the molecular level. This helps ensure the ACE Corta knife keeps a sharp edge for a longer time plus substantially extends the knife’s useful life.
The ACE Corta knife comes in three variations. One has a green canvas colored handle made of Micarta. GiantMouse uses a stonewashed finish on the blade of the first knife. The second knife has a natural canvas colored Micarta handle with a satin finished blade. The final variation uses black G10 laminate for the handle. This black version also has a black PVD finish on the blade.
All three use a ball bearing pivot mechanism for a smooth and fast opening. Additionally, these knives all have a reversible wire pocket clip for ease of carrying in whatever method works best for you. Each knife has a liner made of AISI 420 hardened stainless steel with a brass backspacer and liner lock.
ACE Corta knives carry a suggested retail price of $195 each. For additional information on the ACE Corta and the other blades offered by Giant Mouse, visit the company’s website located at: giantmouse.com.
