First Look: Lucid E7 Reflex Sight

Lucid Optics has just released an enclosed-emitter, micro-reflex sight, the new Lucid Optics E7. This new optic makes use of the Aimpoint ACRO-style mounting footprint, and like other products found in Lucid Optics’ lineup, the new E7 enclosed-emitter reflex has a blue reticle instead of the typical red or green reticles seen inside of most illuminated optics. The reticle on the Lucid Optics E7 isn’t merely a blue dot, but rather Lucid’s M5-style reticle, which has an upper-half circle with a central aiming point supported by two diagonal lines that form a lightweight chevron.

Along with an aircraft-grade-aluminum external housing, the E7 has an enclosed emitter for additional protection from dust, debris and other environmental elements. Enclosed emitters are preferred by those who use and keep their firearms around adverse conditions in the field as external elements can cause interference with open emitters and interrupt the sight picture. Lucid designed the E7 to run off a CR2032 battery with a claimed battery life of 50,000 hours.

“The E7 has undergone rigorous testing to prove its mettle in the face of punishing vibrations and extreme temperatures, characteristic of intense usage scenarios,” says Jason Wilson, President of Lucid Optics. “Equipped with a high-efficiency LED emitter, it features a razor-sharp M5 Reticle, proven to provide a 30-percent faster target acquisition compared to conventional dot sights of any color.”
