Sako of Finland, one of the most famous names in Scandinavian rifles, is rolling out the next generation of the Sako TRG family, which consists of proven tactical/precision-oriented bolt action rifles with either standard or magnum length actions. In cooperation with the company’s industry partner, Beretta, it is now importing the new Sako TRG 22-A1 and TRG 42-A1 rifles to the American civilian shooting market.

The heart of any Sako TRG rifle has always been its extremely accurate cold-hammer-forged barrel along with a tri-lug, 60-degree throw action, and that is not changing any time soon. However, the primary updates for this next generation of TRG A1 rifles include an improved fold stock with quick adjustment capabilities and a fully adjustable trigger. Also new is the full size 15-inch aluminum M-Lok railed handguard that features a full M1913 Picatinny rail at 12 o’clock. The top of the receiver was also designed with a built-in 30-MOA Picatinny rail in order to facilitate long distance shots. Shooters have a choice of four different Cerakote finish options for their TRG chassis: Tungsten Gray, Olive Drab Green, Graphite Black and Coyote Brown.

Calibers available in the Sako TRG A1 family consist of 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum. In addition to this next generation of TRG rifles, Sako is also introducing its TRG Precision ammunition line with precision match-grade cartridges of the same calibers listed above. The cartridges are loaded with OTM (open tip match) style projectiles such as the Lapua Scenar-L or the Sierra Matchking along with premium temperature stable powders.

The new Sako TRG 22-A1 and 42-A1 rifles retail for $5,500 or $6,500 respectively. They are now available for sale at qualifying Sako dealers across the United States. For more information, please visit sako.fi.
