Today, Governor Greg Abbott called on Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and Speaker Dade Phelan each to immediately form a special legislative committee to study the following topics to prevent future school shootings:
- School safety
- Mental health
- Social media
- Police training
- Firearm safety
