Gunsite Training Across the Nation

Enthusiasts typically make their way to Paulden, AZ, when they want to polish their skills under the watchful eyes of Gunsite Academy’s expert instructors. From many regions that requires a long trip, but the famed facility is once again reducing the travel hurdle by making its premier courses available across the nation in an expanded schedule.

In South Carolina, for example, its three-day, 150 Pistol course is going to be held at the Panteao Sportsmans Club—20 minutes from Columbia—April 24 through 26. Space was still available as this was written, but it will fill fast.

The class is an ideal opportunity for pistol owners to learn the Gunsite doctrine and for alumni to polish their handgun skills. The course will cover the combat triad—marksmanship, gun handling and mindset—and, as is always the case, maintain focus on safety.

Students at each course are required to bring certain equipment, including eye and ear protection, appropriate clothing (including hat), belt, boots, firearm cleaning equipment, range bag and small pad for note keeping. For the pistol course, the pistol, holster, magazines, magazine carriers and tactical flashlight are also mandatory, along with 800 rounds of ball ammo.

It’s not the first time Gunsite Academy held a course in South Carolina. In 2022, it conducted a 150 Revolver session at the same range. A Carbine 123 class will also be conducted there from Sept. 7 to 9 of 2023.

Flyover country hasn’t been ignored in the facility’s schedule, either. From March 31 to April 2 the Lebanon Indiana Pistol Range will be the site of another 150 Pistol course. In May it will also be the scene of a 160 Three Day Shotgun Course.

The top-notch training, in a variety of courses, is available later this year in Colorado, Tennessee, Alaska and Alabama. It’s easier than ever to find a famed Gunsite Academy Course near you—or at least one that’s within reasonable driving distance.
