The Savage Arms Model 64 series of semi-autoamtic rimfire rifles has been a popular line for Savage Arms, and for 2022, the company announced the release of a new model of the successful .22 LR chambered design, the Model 64 Precision. The Model 64 Precision is built with extra features designed to extend the reach of the rimfire rifle, as well as provide the accuracy to preserve consistency at those ranges.

The 16.5″ barrel of the Model 64 Precision is made of carbon steel with a heavy profile, for better heat absorption and rigidity, that is topped off with a matte black finish. As an added feature, the muzzle is also threaded to 1/2-28″ t.p.i. for the optimal attachment of AR-style muzzle devices, suppressors and suppressor mounts.

On top of the receiver, holes a pre-drilled and tapped, with a Picatinny rail segment installed, which offers  a mounting point for optics. The barreled action is fitted to a black synthetic chassis, which is made from glass-filled nylon with an unibody construction for increased stability. This chassis features M-Lok compatible slots on the sides and bottom of the fore-end, a built-in barricade stop and a grip that is interchangeable with AR-style aftermarket options.

At the back of the chassis is a fixed stock with rubber butt pad and enlarged cheek rest, with a length-of-pull of 13.5″ and the toe of the butt shaped into grip for the supporting hand. The Model 64 Precision feeds from detachable box magazines, with 10- and 20-round options available. It has an overall length of 35.5″, and an unloaded weight just over 5 lbs. The retail price of the Model 64 Precision rifle starts at $299.
