A conference committee has been put together to look at the Firearm Discrimination Prevention Measure, House Bill 3144.  Having received amendments that damage the intention of the legislation, NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to contact committee members and ask them to pass HB 3144 with Rep. Kevin West’s language fix.

House Bill 3144, as originally drafted, provides that a governmental entity may not enter into a contract with a company for the purchase of goods or services unless the contract contains a written verification from the company that it does not have a practice, policy, guidance, or directive that discriminates against a firearm entity or firearm trade association and will not discriminate during the term of the contract against a firearm entity or firearm trade association.
Again, it is important that you please contact members of the conference committee and ask them to pass House Bill 3144 with Rep. Kevin West’s language fix.
