A man who is paralyzed from the waist down, met with some unexpected circumstances on Thursday. Three intruders attempted to break in his home, but he was armed and now two of the intruders are dead.

The unnamed resident, who lives at the Suzanne Apartments in Tulsa, was able to gun down two of the men as a third suspect slipped away.

According to Sgt. Dave Walker, police officers arrived on the scene around 12:30am. He indicated that Kejuan Shields and Demario Harris were found dead inside the apartment.

Shields and Harris, along with the third suspect were in an apparent disagreement outside the apartment. The resident, who uses a wheelchair, and his friend slipped inside the apartment. However, the other three men broke into the apartment and began assaulting the resident’s friend.

That’s when the resident pulled out his gun and fired at the intruders. He later told police that one of the suspects had a gun.

KTUL reports that the resident’s mother, Anita Penn, who lives in the apartment with her son, conveyed an irony to the story.

Penn’s son, who is a paraplegic had an earlier encounter with armed intruders. In 2011, intruders broke into his home and shot him seven times while he slept, which left him wheelchair bound.

“The first time the guy kicked in the door, he was in the bed, asleep and they shot him seven times,” she said. “That’s why he’s in a wheelchair today.”

Police say that they are searching for the third suspect, who they have identified as Tymalk Love, 25. Love is a black male, about 5 feet 7 and 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Love, please call Crimestoppers at 918-596-2677.
