Paris 2024 Olympics: U.S. Women’s Trap Competitors Ousted In Qualification Round
Team USA’s Ryann Phillips and Rachel Tozier have been eliminated from the Women’s Trap event at the Paris 2024 Olympics after the conclusion of the two-day qualification process on Wednesday.

Phillips, who hails from Gail, Texas, exited Women’s Trap qualification in 16th place with 116 of 125 targets. Making her Olympic debut this year, Phillips was perfect in the first round until missing her 23rd target, although she did have a hit streak of 39 targets across rounds two and three.
As for Tozier, who is a staff sergeant in U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit from Pattonsburg, Missouri, she walked away from day two of Women’s Trap qualification on Wednesday in 18th place with 116 of 125 targets. She is competing at the Olympic Games for the first time this year. While she was perfect in the third round with 25 of 25 targets, Tozier missed targets during the other four, including her initial one in the first round.
There was a total of 30 competitors in the Women’s Trap event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Advancing to the Women’s Trap final are the following top six shooters:
- Mar Molné Magriñà, 123 (Spain)
- Fatima Galvez, 122+9 (Spain)
- Adriana Ruano, 122+8 (Guatemala)
- Silvana Stanco, 122+0+1 (Italy)
- Cuicui Wu, 122+0+0 (China)
- Penny Smith, 121+2 (Australia)
The Women’s Trap final at the Paris 2024 Olympics will be on Wednesday, July 31, at 3:30 p.m. (Paris time).
