Preview: Hardcore Hammers Blackout Survivalist Hatchet
Hardcore Hammers’ Survivalist Hatchet is a multifunctional tool that combines the versatility of a hand axe with the usefulness of a hammer. Thanks to its new inclusion in the company’s Blackout line, the hatchet is now even more durable.
The 4140 alloy steel head now undergoes a ferritic nitrocarburizing treatment that both hardens the surface and improves its corrosion resistance, while also blackening it. The axe side of the head features a curved blade, and a tent-stake/nail puller has been incorporated into its beard. Meanwhile, the blunt end employs the firm’s patented recessed, waffle-pattern striking face to combine the features of both framing and finish hammers. A black leather sheath is included.
