Preview: Sitka Kelvin Aerolite Jacket
Meet the latest addition to Sitka’s Aerolite collection, the versatile Kelvin Aerolite Jacket.
Warm enough to wear as an outer layer on many hunts, yet lightweight and compact enough to serve as a middle layer on those particularly frigid adventures, the new Aerolite Jacket from Sitka Gear is light, tough and versatile thanks to premium materials and engineering.
Within the Aerolite Jacket’s core, sandwiched between the zippered hoodie’s water-repellent 20-denier outer shell and its inner liner, is PrimaLoft Gold—a synthetic insulation that mimics the heat retention and compressibility of down, yet retains its warmth when wet. The lab-derived material comes at a reduced weight too, making it a worthwhile layer for backcountry treks in addition to cool season deer hunts in the timber.
Sitka also provides silica aerogel infusion within the jacket for added thermal insulation. This unique material is 35-percent derived from recycled goods and is composed mostly of air for adding highly efficient thermal properties to the man-made wearable. The Aerolite Jacket weighs in at an average of 16 ozs. and offers features such as gusseted, stretch cuffs to keep the jacket in place while maneuvering in the field, and a fitted hood to keep in the heat without obstructing a hunter’s vision. A zippered chest pocket with a deep cavity is supplied, too.
Sitka Gear offers its Aerolite Jacket in sizes M, L, XL, XLT and XXL with available colors that include three solid and two camouflage patterns (Optifade Subalpine shown). Retail price is set for $299.
