Thanks to the discovery of a cache of Martini-Henry (MH) rifles in Nepal in 2000, many of these 19th century military arms are commonly available in the U.S., but compatible .577/450 MH ammunition is far less plentiful.
The Shooter’s Box enables MH owners to fire easily obtainable .45 Colt rounds through their rifles, thanks to its U.S.-made, stainless-steel chamber adapter machined to the dimensions of a standard .577/450 cartridge. The adapter provides a clear throat that allows fired .45 Colt projectiles to enter the gun’s rifling.
Due to variances in chamber dimensions, the adapter may not work in all guns, and accuracy can be somewhat lacking, due to varying bore diameters in MH rifles. The price is $69 per adapter.
