SIG Sauer has determined that portions of Lot No. JDAR0815 of SIG Sauer 9 mm, 115-grain Elite Ball, full metal jacket loads (SKU E9MMB1-50), may have powder charge variations that could result in a bullet remaining in the barrel. Owners of that ammunition, with lot number JDAR0815, need to discontinue its use immediately and visit the special web page to arrange for its return to the company and receive free replacement of the ammunition.

Firing a subsequent bullet into a bore obstruction could cause firearm damage, rendering the firearm inoperable and subjecting the shooter and bystanders to a risk of serious personal injury. Ammunition from this lot should be removed from use immediately and carefully segregated from all other ammunition until it can be returned to SIG Sauer.

This warning applies only to lot number JDAR0815. The lot number can be found on the inside flap of the individual boxes of ammunition.

Owners of the ammunition should register on the web page listed above or by calling SIG Sauer customer service at (603) 610-3000 and selecting option 1. Full instructions will be provided at that time for the return of the affected ammunition and arrangements made for its replacement. The ammunition affected by this recall was manufactured from April 8 to April 18, 2022. Enthusiasts who purchased SIG Sauer 9 mm 115-grain Elite Ball ammunition on or after April 8 need to inspect their boxes to determine if it was part of this notice’s lot number.

SIG Sauer will cover the cost of returning the affected product, which is limited only to Lot JDAR0815. The company will also provide replacement cartridges, at no cost, within 15 business days.
