A 32-year-old suspect died at a Wichita Falls, Texas, hospital from injuries sustained when he allegedly attempted to rob an armed 33-year-old man.

Just after 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2024, law enforcement responded to a call of shots fired at an area apartment complex. According to witnesses, the man was approached by two suspects and shouted, “Leave me alone! Get out of my house!” The suspects allegedly had firearms, leading the victim to produce his own gun.

“They had firearms,” Wichita Falls Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Charlie Eipper said. “he was able to produce a firearm during the robbery, and he shot both of the suspects. Again, one of those suspects died at the hospital, and one of them is in critical condition.”

The hospitalized suspect was reportedly under guard, and no charges have been brought against the man who defended himself. (News Channel 6; Wichita Falls, Texas; 1/21/24)

Awakened by noises in his Tucson, Ariz., cycle shop, owner D.E. Musselman armed himself with a revolver and went to investigate. As Musselman crept towards the back of his shop, he observed a man break a window and crawl inside. Waiting until the intruder was inside the shop, the store owner ordered him to stand where he was. Musselman held the prowler at gunpoint until the police arrived. (The Arizona Daily Star)
