A Warner Robins, Ga., man defended his life and home from an intruder, who broke into his house following an earlier argument.

Police say that the 35-year-old homeowner and the 33-year-old suspect had fought previously at the home. An undisclosed amount of time later, the 33-year-old suspect returned to the house and broke in, allegedly in an attempt to continue the fight. The 35-year-old homeowner was armed and shot the alleged home invader, who was hospitalized for his injuries.

Police say they determined that the 35-year-old homeowner acted in self-defense and will not be charged. (13 WMAZ; Warner Robins, Ga.; 1/9/24)

Two men were shot down, one killed as they ran from the First National Bank in Mill Creek, Okla., after robbing the place of $830 on Wednesday afternoon. The third, the driver of the getaway car, was also shot and was captured a short distance from town. The robbers were leaving the bank, when they took shots at citizens at Young’s Garage. The shots were returned, and one man, identified as Fred Hamner of Wewoka, was carrying the suitcase out of the bank when he fell dead, being struck in the back of the head.

The driver of the car backed up to the scene and opened fire on the citizens, who returned fire and wounded him. Local deputies started on the trail of the wounded driver, coming upon an abandoned car with its bumper dragging. The officers trailed the wounded man by blood marks on the ground. Separating to cover a timber spot, both officers came upon the bandit. A demand was made to “reach skywards,” and the robber obeyed. (Johnston County Capital Democrat; Mill Creek, Okla.)
