An elderly Pennsylvania homeowner shot and killed an alleged home intruder in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022.
Police received a call from the 72-year-old resident just after 3 a.m., who reported that there had been a home invasion and an assault. The call disconnected, but once police were able to get the homeowner back on the line, shots had been fired. The 22-year-old alleged intruder suffered a single gunshot wound and died from his injuries at the scene.

Taking inventory inside his garage early one morning, Nicholas Salis, of Nashua, N.H., heard someone try the doors leading to the service area. Salis reached for a .45-cal. pistol, then hid while two men broke a window and entered. He yelled, “Freeze,” then held the two suspects for police. (Nashua Telegraph, Nashua, N.H.)
