A San Antonio, Texas, homeowner defended his property against three armed intruders on the evening of Aug. 11, 2023.
At 11:55 p.m., according to police, the three suspects arrived at the homeowner’s residence, and one of the suspects kicked in the front door. Officials said the man who kicked his way into the house was armed with a rifle. The resident was able to immediately grab a firearm as soon as the door broke down and opened fire. Having fallen asleep watching television in his Santa Paula, Calif., home, Robert Moore was awakened by a pair of housebreakers glowering over him. One man stabbed Moore twice in the abdomen, but the homeowner managed to call for his wife to summon the police and then retrieved a handgun from a bedroom nightstand. When he saw one burglar approaching, blade ready, he fired one shot that dropped the man. His partner had already fled the scene. (The Star Free-Press; Ventura, Calif.)
