A pedestrian in Austin, Texas, acted in defense of another when an armed man allegedly burglarized them at gunpoint on June 14, 2022.
The two were walking through an outdoor shopping center parking lot just after 4 p.m. that Tuesday afternoon, when a 17-year-old approached them from behind. The youth was wearing a black shirt wrapped around his face, and he pointed a gun at the two as he snatched a shopping bag from one of them.

One of the victims yelled and walked towards the robber, who continued to aim his gun at the two burglary victims. The other pedestrian, who had a valid concealed carry license, drew their concealed pistol and opened fire on the burglar. One round struck the young robber, who dropped his gun. The vehicle sped out of the parking lot, only to stop a short distance later, due to his injury. A passenger in the vehicle called authorities, and the wounded man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The stolen items were found in the car. Norris Hamilton, A 77-year-old resident of St. Louis, Mo., was getting into his car when a holdup man shoved him against the vehicle and began to go through his pockets.Hamilton drew a handgun from another pocket and shot and killed the robber.
