This Credit Card Company Will Be Tracking Gun Sales – Other Corporate Fascists Lining Up Behind Them

Eventually, this will be taken up by all credit card companies and banks.  It’s inevitable in this fiat system of control.  However, it appears that Discover is leading the pack by tracking gun purchases.

Guns in the News reports:

Discover credit cards needs to go slogan shopping. The old ones won’t work now that the credit card financial services company has decided to go along with the newly-assigned Merchant Category Code (MCC) for purchases at firearm retailers.

Here are the past slogans that won’t work anymore.

  • It pays to Discover.
  • The Card That Pays You Back.
  • We treat you like you’d treat you.
  • Here to help. Not to sell.

Somehow, they all seem disingenuous now that Discover is selling out customers using their credit cards at firearm retailers.

Discover Financial Services announced it will begin using the new controversial codes in April. Reuters reported that Discover will become the first credit card company to use the specific code for purchases at a firearm retailer.

“We remain focused on continuing to protect and support lawful purchases on our network while protecting the privacy of cardholders,” Discover said in its statement to Reuters. To date, no other credit card providers have announced they will adopt the new code.

Discover will track purchases at firearm retailers, but still won’t be able to see what is listed on the sales receipt. This was the brainchild of Andrew Ross Sorkin, a New York Times columnist who proposed that credit card companies and banks could play a pivotal role in ushering gun control outside of public policy channels.

The Gateway Pundit adds exactly what I alluded to at the beginning.

Visa, Mastercard, and AmEx previously announced they would track gun sales separately.

This came after the International Organization for Standardization, the organization in charge of setting standards for business transactions, voted to create a “merchant category code” for gun purchases.

Fox Business reported previously:

Payment processor Visa announced Saturday its plans to separately categorize gun shop sales, joining Mastercard and American Express, which have already said they would categorize purchases at firearm stores.

Visa said it would apply the International Organization for Standardization’s new merchant code to gun shop sales. The new IOS code was announced on Friday. Previously, gun store sales were labeled as “general merchandise.”

“Following ISO’s decision to establish a new merchant category code, Visa will proceed with next steps, while ensuring we protect all legal commerce on the Visa network in accordance with our long-standing rules,” Visa said in a statement.

My suggestion?  Dump all of them you can, now!  If you aren’t using them, they don’t stay in business and, by the way, they are using your money, loaning it to you at interest and making you a slave to them if you are not paying it back during the grace period.
