Election Day has come and gone, but one U.S. Senate race still remains up for grabs in Georgia. Incumbent U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock (D) is in a runoff with NRA-PVF endorsed Herschel Walker (R), after neither received more than 50% of votes last month.

As it stands right now, the U.S. Senate is divided 50-49, with the Democrat Party holding a narrow advantage, as two independent senators choose to caucus with their party. Should Warnock win reelection, that split will widen to 51-49.

This is why the runoff election in Georgia is so important.

Sen. Warnock has made no secret of his anti-Second Amendment positions. As the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) reported, Warnock supports bans on commonly owned firearms and magazines. He wants to confiscate these same firearms, and has also been endorsed by notable anti-gun groups; in fact, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported last June that “Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock is a co-sponsor of a new proposal in the Senate seeking a ban on semiautomatic weapons, such as AR-15 rifles, but he hasn’t been advertising that fact.”

It’s almost as if he knows his agenda isn’t popular.

Walker, on the other hand, is a staunch Second Amendment supporter; such is why the NRA Political Action Fund has endorsed him. Walker opposes such radical bans and efforts to confiscate lawfully owned firearms. The former Georgia football star also supports right-to-carry reciprocity legislation and judges who understand that the right to keep and bear arms should not be infringed.
