WHY BIDEN’S “GHOST GUN BAN” WON’T STOP CRIME AND WILL ENACT A GUN REGISTRY
ATF’s “Ghost Gun Ban” isn’t a real solution to Biden’s crime problem; it’s a distraction from his administration’s failures while he institutes a universal registry with every gun purchase since 2002.
Houston Chronicle and White House say the new rule is targeted to stop crime but…
- Privately Made Firearms are hardly used in murders.
- According to DOJ, of “approximately 45,240 reports of suspected privately made firearms recovered by law enforcement” over a six year period, only 692—or less than 2%—were found in connection with “homicides or attempted homicides.”
- This means suspected homemade firearms were found at an average of 115 murder or attempted murder crime scenes per year.
- That is NOT a “major source of crime guns” and addressing 115 crime guns a year is NOT going to solve Biden’s crime problem.
- For comparison, according to the FBI’s 2019 homicide statistics:
-
- 1476 people were killed with knives.
- 600 people were killed by fists and feet.
- 397 people were killed by hammers and blunt objects.
-
- So, the Administration would be better served to fight crime if they addressed knife fights, bar fights, and instituted hammer registration laws at hardware stores!

- Completing ATF’s illegal national digital searchable gun registry.
- ATF told Rep. Michael Cloud it has nearly a billion Firearm Transaction Records:
- “In total, ATF manages 920,664,765 OBR as of November 2021. This includes digital and an estimated number of hard copy records that are awaiting image conversion. It is currently estimated that 865,787,086 of those records are in digitalized format.”
- The Biden-ATF Rule would ensure that 100% of Firearm Transaction Records (Form 4473s) moving forward and every gun ever sold at a gun store dating back to August 9th, 2002 will eventually end up in ATF’s digital searchable gun registry.
- Federal law 18 U.S.C. 926 explicitly forbids agency rules from enacting a national gun registry:
- “No such rule or regulation prescribed after the date of the enactment of the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act may require that records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any State or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or dispositions be established.”
- Using the Congressional Review Act to reverse this rule is essential to stopping a complete national gun registry from being established by Biden and the rogue ATF.
- Passing the No REGISTRY Rights Act is essential to destroying ATF’s turnkey national gun registry
- ATF told Rep. Michael Cloud it has nearly a billion Firearm Transaction Records:
- This affects ordinary people
- Making firearms at home has been legal since our founding
- Anyone with a machine shop or tools from the hardware store can manufacture machine guns
- Anyone with a 3D printer can also manufacture machine guns these days
- Criminals were recently found ordering machine guns from China on the internet and ATF still hasn’t recovered them all!
- This rule is just theater and Pandering to Gun Control Advocates
-
- The scary term “ghost guns” is used to describe legal firearms that even regulators like the ATF refer to as homemade or privately made firearms
- This is nothing more than a fake way to “address crime” without passing a new law and by passing the blame onto law abiding gun owners
