Biden to Create Anti-Second Amendment Federal Office
President Joe Biden is reportedly going to announce that his administration is creating a new federal office of “gun violence prevention.”
This new office is likely to be run by Stephanie Feldman, Biden’s staff secretary, who also oversees firearms policies within the White House. She was previously a policy director for Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign, where she frequently took shots at the Second Amendment from X (known as Twitter at the time).
Predictably, this included repeated calls to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), which she dishonestly labels as “gun manufacturers’ immunity,” including here, here, here, here and here, where she called it “non-sensical” [sic]. As America’s 1st Freedom has detailed numerous times, firearms manufacturers do not have a liability shield, but Biden has nonetheless called for repealing the PLCAA countless times. He even said it was the “one thing” he’d ask God for.

While it is common knowledge in the pro-Second Amendment community that Biden has difficulty with the truth when it comes to talking about firearms, outlets that have historically supported restrictions on law-abiding gun owners have also drawn the line with Biden when he makes easily refutable claims like the gun industry is the “only industry in America you can’t sue.” CNN labeled the claim “false,” and FactCheck.org labeled it “a false talking point about the gun industry.”
Feldman also posted in 2019, during Biden’s campaign, that “[u]nder the Biden plan, current owners of assault weapon will have two choices: 1) sell their weapons back to the [government], OR 2) register them under the National Firearms Act. That’s the same policy successfully used to regulate machine guns.”
So, this is who Biden wants to lead his soon-to-be-created federal office of “gun violence prevention.” By all available evidence, she supports every part of Biden’s gun-control agenda and more. Several high-ranking members of notable anti-gun groups are also expected to hold key positions within the office.
“If this announcement is, in fact, the creation of a single point of leadership on gun violence in the administration, it’s a very big deal for the movement,” Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, said in a statement to The Washington Post.
This clearly anti-Second Amendment move will likely try to build on the administration’s recent actions, which have seen the Biden administration target law-abiding gun owners using the misleadingly named Bipartisan Safer Communities Act that was passed last year.
America’s 1st Freedom will keep you updated on what exactly this means and what to expect once the official announcement is made by the Biden administration.
