Special Operations Wounded Warriors (SOWW) received a $137,000 donation from Brownells last month, which represents a percentage of the company’s total sales from Nov. 8 to 12—including Veterans Day. The non-profit organization, which was founded in August of 2012, will use the funds to continue its mission of providing therapeutic outdoor experiences for Purple Heart recipients who served or are serving as a member of U.S. Special Operations forces.

“We are very grateful for our customers who helped us fund this awesome organization,” said Brownells Chairman Pete Brownell. “Thank you all for helping fund SOWW and for supporting the warfighters who benefit from SOWW.”

The donation comes at a critical time for the organization. SOWW’s fundraising efforts are traditionally live auctions and benefit dinners, activities curtailed or completely canceled due to restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are forever thankful for the continued support that Brownells has offered Special Operations Wounded Warriors,” said SOWW President Joel Pellicci. “They have been a partner in charity since our inception and they continue to be a major source of funds and support of our efforts to help special operations veterans throughout the year. Brownells’ support over the past two years has been our charity’s lifeblood due to the loss of annual fundraising events because of Covid 19 impacts.”

“SOWW does great work to help people who have put everything on the line for us and our country,” said Brownells Vice President of Marketing Ryan Repp. “Brownells has supported SOWW for a long time, and we are proud to keep finding ways to help them help our Special Operations veterans.”

SOWW is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with outreach efforts that include retreats, PTSD treatments, a K9 program and more, all benefitting those who have received wounds in battle while serving as a member of U.S. Military Special Operations Forces.
