California: Senate Passes Gun Show Ban Legislation
Yesterday, the California Senate passed Senate Bill 281 by a vote of 27 – 11. SB 281 has now been transmitted to the Assembly where it will be assigned to committee for further consideration.
SB 281, sponsored by Senator Scott Wiener (D-11), prohibits the sale of firearms and ammunition on any property owned, occupied, operated or controlled by the 1-A Agricultural Association, which includes the Cow Palace.

These laws apply regardless of whether the transaction takes place at a gun show or a brick and mortar shop. Last year, in an NRA supported case, a federal Judge issued an injunction against the prohibition on gun shows at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
