Colorado: Longmont City Moves to Adopt Gun Control Package to Diminish Second Amendment Rights!

Mayor Joan Peck has demanded that five anti-Second Amendment ordinances be brought before the City Council. The proposed gun-control package bans law-abiding gun owners from bearing arms in “sensitive places,” strips 18- to 20-year-old adults of their Second Amendment rights, imposes arbitrary waiting periods, bans so-called “ghost guns,” and requires signage at FFLs describing the “dangers” of gun ownership. Please contact your City Council members here asking them to oppose these anti-Second Amendment ordinances.

Last year, Colorado became one of the few states where the state legislature does not have the sole authority to regulate firearms. The repeal has enabled Colorado’s counties and municipalities to pass a patchwork of confusing and conflicting local laws throughout the state. Longmont City’s proposed gun-control package is a discriminatory proposal that only inhibits law-abiding citizens’ right to defend themselves.

Unfortunately, Mayor Peck has not shied away from infringing on your Second Amendment rights and projecting her blatant disregard for the Constitution onto the citizens of Longmont. Please forward this to your friends, family, and Second Amendment supporters, urging them to, also, oppose the gun control package.
