Editor’s Choice: Beretta USA A300 Ultima Patrol
Beretta’s 1301 Tactical has been a popular semi-automatic shotgun for shooters across the self-defense and competition spectrum, but the cost of the platform is a barrier to many. For 2023, Beretta built on its affordable A300 platform with the A300 Ultima Patrol, a 12-ga. semi-automatic shotgun loaded with tactical features.
At the heart of the shotgun is Beretta’s Angular Gas System, which provides more room for shells and also enhances the versatility of the semi-automatic operating system. Equipped with a 19″ barrel and a lengthened magazine tube, the Patrol is capable of holding up to eight shells in total.
Topping the receiver is a ghost-ring sighting system, and the shotgun is compatible with optics-ready mounts and rail accessories designed for Beretta’s 1301. Enlarged controls—including the bolt-release, operating handle and reversible safety—ease manipulation, and an oversized loading port makes for quick reloads.
