Editor’s Choice: Diamondback Sidekick

Diamondback Firearms has come to market with an unusual entry in an increasingly popular market segment: economical, cowboy-style, rimfire revolvers. The all-new Sidekick is different, though, as it features both single- and double-action operation along with a convenient swing-out nine-shot cylinder.

A simple tug on the ejector rod unlatches the cylinder to swing to the left, then a smart tap in the opposite direction forces an extractor star to expel spent cases. Even better, the Sidekick is a convertible that comes with two cylinders—one in .22 LR and one in .22 WMR. Materials include a zinc-alloy frame finished in black Cerakote and black glass-filled nylon stocks, with wood stocks as available options. The Sidekick weighs in at 32.5 ozs. and measures 9.88″ overall with its 4.5″ barrel, which features six-groove, 1:16″ RH twist rifling. Perhaps the best news is the MSRP of only $320
