First Look: Browning PRO22 .22 LR Rimfire Ammunition
For 2022, Browning Ammunition announced the release of a new line of rimfire ammunition, the Browning PRO22 .22 LR. Designed with the current trends in the precision rimfire market in mind, the PRO22 line delivers improved performance and consistency.
One of the most notable features is the use of a precise target crimp used on the case heads, which results in a more consistent bullet alignment between individual cartridges. In addition to this, the PRO22’s 40-grain, round-nose lead bullet is propelled at a maximum velocity of 1,085 f.p.s. This subsonic loading ensures that the accuracy degradation that normally occurs due to transonic bullet destabilzation does not occur with the PRO22 line of ammunition, maximizing accuracy potential for precision target shooting and competition.
