First Look: Colt Anaconda Revolver
Colt recently reintroduced the Anaconda, the latest in its revamped Snake Gun revolver series. The Anaconda is a six-round, large frame, double-action revolver chambered in .44 Mag. that features forged stainless steel construction. The revolver will be available across the U.S. and carries an MSRP of $1,499.
The new Anaconda was fully redesigned to utilize an oversized Python action with a bulkier frame that adds strength. The leaf spring action provides a non-stacking, smooth trigger pull, while Hogue overmolded grips are interchangeable with all Colt Python grips and help reduce recoil. Sights are elevation and windage adjustable and can be swapped out with a simple Allen key.
Other features on the new Anaconda include a full-lug construction with a ventilated and ribbed barrel that comes in either 6- or 8-inch lengths. The cylinder rotates clockwise and the revolver features a recessed target crown.

“The Anaconda is a legendary piece of the Snake Gun series and fills a unique space in the revolver market,” said Justin Baldini, Product Director at Colt. “Our team was dedicated to making this revival worthy of the Colt name while serving the needs of today’s gun owner.”
First made in the 1990s, the Anaconda is now the fourth Snake Gun to be re-released by Colt, following the Cobra, King Cobra, and Python.
