First Look: EAA Girsan MCP 35 PI Pistol
European American Armory is a leading importer of firearms from overseas, and now they are importing a new, smaller sized, clone of the venerable Browning Hi Power.
The MC P35 PI is an all steel 9mm chambered semi-automatic handgun with the delayed blowback system made famous by John Browning himself. The PI version is slightly more compact than the classic Hi Power/MC P35 pistol, for added convenience when carrying concealed. Its barrel measures only 3.9 inches compared to the 4.7 inch standard size barrel found in full size Hi Powers. The Girsan MC P35 PI also comes standard with ambidextrous thumb safeties and black synthetic polymer checkered stocks.
True to the original military Hi Power design, the Girsan MC P35 PI also includes a classically styled ring hammer, also called a “commander style hammer.” This hammer is an alternative to other styles such as a spur shaped hammer that may cause hammer bite and shooting discomfort for shooters with larger hands. Unlike the original Hi Power, which was designed to take 13 round capacity magazines, the MC P35 PI uses a 15-round staggered column magazines that give it an overall capacity of 16 rounds fully loaded.
“Not only did Girsan find a way to make the already popular MC P35 family of handguns easier to carry but they have found another great market for our retailers to capitalize on,” said Chase Duffey, National Sales & Import Manager at EAA Corp. “We’ve already seen a huge demand for the more compact MC P35 PI.”
However, EAA is currently taking orders and other inquiries from dealers in anticipation of its public sales of this pistol. For more information on the Girsan MC P35 PI or any other firearms imported by European American Armory, please visit their website at eaacorp.com.
