First Look: UTAS UT9-M 9mm Pistol
New from UTAS is the UT9-M, a semi-automatic pistol that is chambered in 9 mm. The pistol has a 6-inch barrel and upper receiver that is topped with a full length section of Picatinny rail for mounting optics or other accessories. The controls of the pistol will be immediately familiar to anyone who uses an AR-pattern firearm, with the safety and magazine release located right where they would be on a full-size rifle.
The UT9-M ships without a buffer tube, so it is only 14 inches long. It is compatible with AR-15 pattern buffer tubes, allows you to mount the brace of your choice to the back of the gun or a stock to turn it into a short-barreled rifle. to its lack of a buffer tube, the UTAS UT9-M is only 14 inches long. It can be upgraded with AR-style buffer tubes for mounting braces or stocks as a short-barreled rifle. The UT9-M accepts Glock-pattern magazines and ships with one 33 round magazine.
The pistol uses stainless steel small parts and has an improved low mass bolt as well as internal springs specifically designed for long-life. The pistol is available in ten different colors: Black, FDE, OD Green, Tungsten, Burnt Bronze, Prison Pink, Green Camo, Rustic or US Flag.
