For years now, 9mm pistols have dominated the concealed-carry market. However, in recent years, several manufacturers have realized that not everyone has the upper body strength to easily manipulate the slide on a small 9mm pistol. There are also shooters who have difficulty managing the recoil of a smaller gun. In recent years, several manufacturers have come out with compact .380 ACP pistols to reach this market, and now Beretta joins them with the new 80X Cheetah, a .380 ACP pistol with a Picatinny rail that is optics-ready and has a metal frame. However, unlike most other guns in this niche, the 80X Cheetah is double-action/single action, giving you a longer first trigger press and a light, short single press. Look for this on the shelves of your local gun store in the next few weeks.
